A Mardi Gras Video Lesson

In this lesson, students will examine Mardi Gras and Carnival by exploring the history and traditions of the religious season of Lent.

For example, did you know that every year throughout January, February, and sometimes March, the city of New Orleans, Louisiana hosts roughly 70 parades? Each one has its own special theme, and they all lead up to the single-day celebration of Mardi Gras.
